The challenge

Imagine you work in a hospital and need to transfer heavy patients every day. During a transfer, there is no device available that eases the transfer, so you end up pulling almost the whole weight of a patient. After a long day you come home with lower back pain. This has caused that a large number of nurses are quitting their job in the healthcare sector.

The solution

To solve this problem, we designed The Mumatt! An inflatable air mattress, covered with a hygienic sheet. The MuMatt is simple to implement, cheap and guarantees a hygienic transfer. Most important of all, it can theoretically reduce the force by up to 82%.
