Customized Cooperative Community

The project offers affordable homes with flexible layouts that residents are able to build up their homes on their own with modular products.

The challenge

In the Netherlands, low and middle-income households spend almost half of their income on housing-related costs. This decreases the livability of these households and rises wealth inequality. In the long term, this causes potential macroeconomic instability. How to build up a building system that will cost residents less on housing and provide a better living environment?

The solution

By building their home with modular sets and prefabricated structure, residents are able to build up their community. Reducing the interference of investors and developers, homes with lower rents will provide a better living environment by sharing facilities with customized layouts.
